The PERFORM Centre of Concordia University offers Healthy Cooking classes by a registered dietitian. These classes are a fun, hands-on experience meant to equip participants with nutritious, simple and affordable meal ideas. Participants cook a meal and eat together, and receive nutrient-analyzed recipes. Classes are offered in a bilingual format for a cost of $75 plus tax.

Learning goals:

  1. You will learn criteria for choosing high fibre foods and using these in recipes and meals
  2. You will learn steps to modify recipes and increase fibre
  3. You will learn how your environment can influence your food choices
  4. You will learn several mindfulness strategies to help increase fruit and vegetable intake
  5. You will learn associations between fruit and vegetable intake and feeling full


Learning objectives:

  1. Practice modifying one recipe to increase the amount of dietary fibre per serving.
  2. Cook and/or taste two recipes that are a good source of fibre from grain and vegetable sources.
