The worst effects of climate change have the most severe impact on the poorest, most disadvantaged, marginalized and indigenous communities on this planet. Unless we tackle climate change, we are in danger of jeopardizing any advances in dealing with other human rights abuses when the footprint of climate change is fully stamped across the world.

Why should climate change be the main focus of human rights activists? This bilingual presentation will cover some of the evidence. Come and participate in an evening of discussion and reflection.

Bob McBryde has been a human rights activist for over 35 years, with Amnesty International and the Noella Project refugee support group. The former CEGEP instructor and founder of two environment action groups recently moved to Montreal after spending more than three decades in Quebec City. Bob also worked for 10 years as a host and writer/broadcaster with CBC’s Quebec Community Network, especially as a humorous and satiric storyteller.
