This workshop is dedicated to the “Memories of Arvida” research-action project, its methodologies and its involvement in the community. Started four years ago in the Saguenay region aluminum model city, the project aims to motivate long-time Arvidians into the sharing and self-interpretation of their existence and to mediate memories through initiatives in the public urban space and on the digital territory (exhibitions, seminars and web platform). Between the collect of memories and their mediation, between the researchers and the community, a rich social dialogue has emerged around the safeguarding and the transmission of the history and artefacts of Arvida, which enables the people as real producers, and not only guardians or users, of this tangible and intangible heritage.
