A Concordia study of the relative strength of online passwords is described in a Press-News release. Mohammad Mannan, assistant professor in the Concordia Institute for Information Systems Engineering (CIISE) and Xavier de CarnĂ© de Carnavalet, doctoral candidate in the CIISE, rated the password strength meters of several high-traffic web service providers and found the outcomes to be highly inconsistent. Both researchers are quoted.
