Please join us for Emotional Machines and Other Stories, a presentation by esteemed artist, Department of Studio Arts professor emerita, and founder of the Conversations in Contemporary Art series, Ingrid Bachmann! 

This event will be held in-person only. Seating is first-come, first-served and everyone is welcome. For those who cannot attend, video documentation will be uploaded to our Youtube channel after the event.

Ingrid Bachmann is a multi-disciplinary artist who has presented her work nationally and internationally in exhibitions and festivals in Canada, Belgium, the U.S., Estonia, Singapore, Peru, Brazil, the UK, and Cuba. Exhibitions include the 11th Havana Biennial (Cuba), Manifestation d’art International 6 (Quebec) and Healing, Knowing, Seeing the Body (USA). Bachmann has also made contributions as an editor and writer; she is the co-editor of Material Matters (YYZ Books 1998, 2000), and she has contributed essays to several anthologies and periodicals including chapters in The Object of Labor, MIT Press (2007), Entangled Bodies (Vernon Press 2020), and Cultural Robots (Springer 2023) among others.
