Julie Corrigan conducts research at the nexus of technology, literacy, and assessment. Her current research projects include (1) designing interventions with Quebec teachers for Quebec students aimed at improving students' ability to evaluate the credibility of online information; and, (2) developing a virtual platform to teach, assess, and research complex workplace communication tasks.

Her research has been recognized with a FRQ-SC Action Concertée grant, SSHRC Insight Development Grant, SSHRC Bombardier Canada Graduate Scholarship, and through publications in leading peer-reviewed journals including Computers & Education, Computers in Human Behaviour, Research in the Teaching of English, the Nordic Journal of Digital Literacy, and Assessing Writing.  Julie also co-authored “Writing Research from a New Literacies Lens,” an invited chapter for the Handbook of Writing Research (second edition), widely considered the authoritative text for writing researchers, as well as a chapter on sampling for the SAGE Handbook of Mixed Methods Research Designs.

In addition to her research, Julie is also an Assistant Professor of Digital Literacies at Concordia University in Montreal where she teaches graduate courses in educational technology, academic writing, and research methods.  Julie began her career as a K-12 English and media arts teacher and subsequently taught in the Faculty of Education at the University of Ottawa.

Julie also volunteers as an associate editor with the International Journal of Multiple Research Approaches.
