Graduate Diploma in Chartered Professional Accountancy (CPA)

Program details

The Graduate Diploma in Chartered Professional Accountancy (CPA) program is composed of 30 credits. The program comprises two courses in each of two core modules, two elective courses and two capstone courses for a total of eight courses.

Most courses are held Monday to Thursday evenings from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday courses may be scheduled, if necessary. 

Time to completion

Students who are accepted as full-time students have two years (six terms) in which to complete the program. Part-time students have four years (12 terms) to complete the program.

Full-time students can take up to 12 credits (three courses) per term. Part-time students can only register for up to eight credits (two courses) per term. Students, who take two courses per term and who are accepted in the Summer Term, may complete the program in four terms. Students, who take two courses per term and are accepted in the Fall term, may complete the program in six terms. Students, who take two courses per term and are accepted in the Winter term, may complete the program in five terms.

Flexible completion schedules

The sample completion schedules, below, are based on completing the program as a part-time student taking either one or two courses per term. Students may follow a:

  • full-time accelerated path
  • part-time 
  • a mix of both

Note: These sample schedules indicate the fastest timetable for a part-time student to complete the program based on admission term. Students may choose to take more time to complete the program.
