Activity Coordinator - Intramural Basketball

As part of its Winter 2015 program, Campus Recreation is seeking a dynamic individual to assume the position of intramural basketball coordinator.

Position Description:

  • Reports to the Recreation Coordinator and is responsible for all aspects of the activity including, but not limited to; assist recruiting teams and officials; establishing a league schedule and maintaining league statistics.
  • Ensuring quality of intramural officiating by conducting frequent evaluations of officials.
  • Assist with Intramural Registration and initial schedules where required.
  • Prepare all necessary paper work for captains’ meetings and conduct captains’ meetings at the beginning of each semester.
  • Administrative responsibilities involve player eligibility, score sheets, payroll and additional league administration.

Qualifications:

  • Must have extensive knowledge of sport rules & regulations and in-depth knowledge and playing experience of desired position.
  • Previous league/activity coordination experience is an asset.
  • Computer knowledge, including Microsoft office and web-based programs. 

Hours/Wage

Approximately 4-10 hours/week

Sport Official

Basketball Referee

Timekeeper – Various Sports

As part of its Fall 2014 program, Campus Recreation offers several intramural sport leagues and as such, requires referees to officiate intramural games.

Please note that only selected candidates will be contacted for interview.

Qualifications:
  • Must have extensive knowledge of sport rules & regulations and in-depth knowledge and playing experience of desired referee position.
  • Officiating experience is not essential, although a thorough understanding of a particular sport is required. 
  • Preferred consideration will be given to candidates who hold current certification or who have previous officiating certification and/or experience at the adult or senior level.

Selected applicants will be required to attend an officiating clinic

Hours/Wage 

Approximately 4-10 hours per week 
$15 - $27/hr - dependent upon sport selected and applicant’s qualifications
