Research
The Concordia Institute for Canadian Jewish Studies, founded in 1999, is dedicated to the study of the Canadian Jewish experience. Through research and education, the Institute is designed to support a wide range of projects of local, national, and international interest, which contribute to this growing field of inquiry.
Fellowships
The Institute offers many fellowships to those persusing Jewish studies. Students who apply for admission to an MA or PhD program in the Department of Religions and Cultures with a focus in any area of Judaism, will be automatically be considered for these awards.
Activities & projects
Butovsky Library
Established in 2008, the Butovsky Library opened with a donation of over 3,000 books. The majority of the titles range over the fields of literature, religion, philosophy, Zionism, Biblical studies, North American Jewish writing, and the history of 20th century Jewish culture. The library also features a listening station and a collection of vinyl LPs, cassettes and CDs of Jewish music from around the world.
