Staff updates
- We are excited to welcome Adelina Feo, the new manager of the ACSD, who will begin this Monday, February 6th. More news and introductions to follow!
- After close to 15 years of devoted service to her students and the greater Concordia community, we’d like to thank Ronda Rowat for her work as a counsellor at Concordia. Ronda worked mainly on the Loyola campus and assisted hundreds of students during her tenure. Her kindness, empathy, sense of humour and affable personality made her a pleasure to work with. We wish Ronda every success in the next chapter of her life.
- Health Services welcomes nurse Julie Douangpanya who is replacing Mathilde Blanchette over the course of her maternity leave.
|
Vaccination
- In February, Health Services will be promoting their routine adult vaccination program to students, staff and faculty, inviting them to book an appointment with a nurse for a vaccine review. Concordians can visit concordia.ca/vaccines to learn more.
- Health Services hosted a pop-up Gardasil clinic in the EV-atrium. Nurses vaccinated 39 students; the health promotion specialists provided safer sex education to over 100 students. Nurse Josée Lavoie also worked with Pharmaprix to streamline the prescription process - to reach even more patients going forward!

ACSD programming
- The ADHD coaching pilot project is continuing through the winter term. ACSD Advisor Russ Cooper is currently working with ADHD coaching paraprofessionals to provide strength-based skills training for up to 60 students. By term’s end, an estimated 150 students will have received directed support since last year.
- The ACSD, in collaboration with Ometz Centre for Young Adults, is offering workshops for students on the autism spectrum. This 6-week program focuses on developing skills needed for academic success, including communication in academic settings and organization and time management. The program will run throughout the winter term.
