A reminder from my dog, Cookie, that rest and comfort matter.

When February feels heavy

February often carries a quiet heaviness. The term picks up speed, deadlines begin to overlap, and the energy of a fresh start slowly fades into survival mode. Valentine’s Day can create pressure to feel happy, partnered, or fulfilled. It's okay if that is not where you are.

Love in February does not have to be romantic or loud. It can look like giving yourself grace when motivation dips, checking in on a friend, or choosing to rest instead of pushing through exhaustion. These small moments of care matter. I invite you to approach this month with gentleness and compassion, and to remember that caring for your mental well-being is a meaningful act of love in itself.
