Media in Burma

The lack of media (and cultural) freedom in Burma exemplifies the country’s appalling human rights record. Both criticism of the government and bad news could not be reported. Since 2011, a series of reforms relaxed this censorship but Reporters with Borders in nonetheless careful. The state still controls the main broadcasters and publications. Nonetheless Burmese now have access to Foreign radio.
