Development of all-solid-state lithium-ion batteries

Reference number: 12005
Supervisor: Xia Li

Program description

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral fellowship in the area of energy storage materials. This position is a full-time position at the Concordia University, Montreal, Canada, and the selected applicant can start effective immediately.

The goal of this project will be to use nanomaterials and nanotechnology to overcome the key challenges in next-generation batteries. The specific research project will be the synthesis and design of silicon anodes and their interfaces for high-energy and long-lasting all-solid-state batteries. This will include nanomaterial synthesis, interface design, electrochemical analysis, and advanced materials characterizations in this project.

The selected applicant will have access to the state-of-the-art facilities for the manufacturing of all-solid-state batteries that are located at the Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering. They will have access to other synthesis and characterization facilities, such as synchrotron X-ray as well as XRD, XPS, and ALD facilities.
