Members of the construction engineering and management group are well positioned to address a wide range of topics for innovative, cost effective and environmentally responsible delivery of sustainable construction. Their research encompasses strategic planning and optimized delivery of constructed facilities; risk management; optimized planning and scheduling; value driven asset management of civil infrastructure; smart non-invasive, non-destructive condition assessment and rating methods of constructed facilities; automation and modular construction; and productivity tracking and modeling of construction operations. Utilized in that scope of research activities are computer simulations; BIM-based modeling techniques; construction supply-chain management; artificial intelligence, fuzzy logic; wireless, remote sensing and web enabling technologies; digital imaging, infrared, 3D laser scanning, and ground penetrating radar technologies; data fusion; data mining, artificial intelligence and decision support systems.
