Adding audio narration to PowerPoint slides

Before you begin: Equipment checklist
You will need the following equipment to add Audio Narration to your PowerPoint:
- A desktop or laptop computer
- A supported version of Microsoft PowerPoint
- A reliable Internet connection
- A microphone
You will also need to have PowerPoint installed on your Computer.
Microsoft Office 365 for faculty and staff
Faculty and staff can access the entire suite of apps by logging in to their Microsoft online portal. The subscription also allows employees to install the Office desktop apps on up to five devices per user including PCs, Macs and mobile devices. For more inforamtion, refer to the IITS web site.
Teaching considerations when creating online lectures
If your PowerPoint lecture is longer than 20 minutes, you may want to consider breaking it into 15 – 20 minute segments and adding an activity (reflective question(s), discussion questions for students to discuss in groups on a Moodle discussion forum, short activity that prompts students to put the ideas to ‘action’, etc.)
