University of the Streets Café
University of the Streets Café is a program of the Office of Community Engagement at Concordia University. It organizes bilingual, public conversations in cafés and community spaces across Montreal. This season of University of the Streets Café looks at questions of belonginess in our cities and neighborhoods.
Events are scheduled for February 18 - April 28 2020!
CUCCR Artist Residency Exhibition
All of the materials in this exhibition have been diverted from Concordia’s waste stream and upcycled into innovative artworks by the eight resident artists. During this residency, each artist worked towards developing sustainable art techniques that they will share with Concordia’s community through workshops, skillshares and public interventions.
The show is on in the VAV gallery from March 9 - 27 2020
Zero Waste Challenge
Can you go zero waste for five days? Take Zero Waste Concordia’s annual challenge to find out! In advance of the Challenge, donate containers and take Zero Waste workshops.

Sustainability Across Disciplines Conference
Every year, the Loyola Sustainability Research Centre and the Loyola College for Diversity and Sustainability host a cross-disciplinary sustainability conference around a different environmental theme. Concordia researchers, professors, graduate students, and undergraduate students all participate in this three- day event.
This year’s conference is titled “Sustainability and the Climate Crisis” and will take place from March 16-18 2020.
Concordia Transitions Conference
The annual Transitions Conference, hosted by the Concordia Food Coalition, is a series of events, activities and lectures designed to educate participants about the alternative models to the current multinational food provider, and how to create a more sustainable and democratic food system within their institution.
The conference takes place on March 20-21, 2020.
Community Healing Days at Bâtiment 7
Drama Therapy MA students Sandy EL Bitar and Soroosh Karimi will be facilitating a series of six playful care workshops at Bâtiment 7 as part of a series of community healing days organized there by the Tiger Lotus Coop.

Sustain' Alive Workshops
A week of free events and gatherings in Montreal which seeks to carve a space to ignite and develop theoretical and practical skills for grassroots organizing.

Sustainability Champions Awards
Every spring, the community nominates outstanding Concordians as Sustainability Champions for their remarkable work to promote and advance sustainability on campus. The Champions are celebrated at the Engagement Awards Gala each year.

Mon Campus à Vèlo
Each year, Concordia partners with Vélo Québec to coordinate a series of engagement opportunities around cycling to campus!

Institutions Eat Local Day
Do you know how much of Concordia’s food offerings are locally sourced? Do you know how far your typical apple travels to end up in your kitchen? On Eat Local day, we celebrate and educate around foods grown in Quebec.

Sustainability Action Week
In 2019, Concordia hosted its first-ever Sustainability Action Week! Student groups, staff, and faculty came together to bring sustainability activities, education and opportunities to the SGW and LOY campuses. Keep an eye out for the 2020 edition!

Zero Waste Week
Usually aligning with Waste Reduction Week in Canada in October, at Concordia this is a week-long series of events and workshops dedicated to rethinking and innovating the way we approach waste.
This event takes place October 19-23 2020.
Fair Trade Campus Week
Fair Trade Campus Week is celebrated across Canada by institutions designated as Fair Trade certified. Events are aimed at highlighting Fair Trade Certified products and practices on campus.
