Dear Prospective Graduate, As you are well aware, graduation is upon us and the graduating class needs strong speakers and motivators to represent the class as this year’s valedictorians. Each year two students are chosen for this most prestigious position to speak at the two John Molson School of Business convocations in June to the graduating students about their tremendous accomplishment. What is a valedictorian? A valedictorian is a member of the graduating class who has earned the respect of colleagues, students and professors, has contributed to the university community, and has volunteered their time to the improvement of student life and John Molson pride. This person is also an excellent speaker and has maintained above average grades (cumulative GPA of 3.3 or better). If you meet the above criteria and are interested in representing the graduating class as valedictorian, please submit a copy of your transcript, a resumé, and a letter of intent by Tuesday, May 31, 5:00 pm, to Dr. Jooseop Lim, Associate Dean, Undergraduate Programs. A committee consisting of professors (including myself), academic advisors, staff, and a student representative will review the applications. The selected candidates will be invited to make a valedictory speech not to exceed five minutes at the John Molson convocations in June. The valedictory speech should congratulate the graduates, acknowledge the importance of their accomplishments, generate a sense of pride towards Concordia and the John Molson School of Business, and stress the importance of never forgetting their roots and giving back to student life at Concordia. Please send your submission as soon as possible to adug.jmsb@concordia.ca If you need more information, please call my assistant, Murielle Salari, at 514-848-2424, ext. 2755. Best wishes for success in your career and in your future endeavours. Regards, Jooseop Lim, MBA, PhD This email is being sent to John Molson students who have applied to graduate in Spring 2022. Receiving this email does not imply that you have been cleared for graduation by the Office of the Registrar. |
