Dear [First Name],

We are pleased to share that Concordia University has increased the endowment payout rate from 3.5 per cent to 3.8 per cent, effective for the 2026 fiscal year (to be paid out to Concordia recipient departments May 1, 2026).

This increase means that your endowed gift will have even greater impact on the initiatives you care about — from student awards and research to athletics and other endowed programs.

This year, we are also introducing the Concordia Philanthropy Fund, an initiative that supports the long-term sustainability and success of philanthropy at the university. Effective May 1, 2026, the university will direct 0.2 per cent of the total annual endowment disbursement, as well as 5 per cent of new expendable donations, to the Concordia Philanthropy Fund. Learn more about the specifics of the fund.

The Concordia Philanthropy Fund reflects a growing best practice across the post‑secondary and nonprofit sectors. By modestly reinvesting a portion of philanthropic revenue, the university is able to share the costs of raising, managing and stewarding gifts, while strengthening our long‑term ability to support donors, grow philanthropy and advance Concordia’s mission.

Your continued support helps shape the future of our students and the broader Concordia community.

Thank you for your enduring generosity and confidence in Concordia.

Sincerely,

Paul Chesser, BA 94, GrDip 97
