The Quebec and Canadian governments offer a number of competitive graduate scholarships. We encourage you to apply for these awards at the same time you are preparing your application so you can benefit from funding during your first year of graduate studies.
Disseminate your research nationally and internationally
Share your research findings and discoveries at a local, national, or international conference. Doctoral students can travel anywhere in the world and receive funding of up to $15,000 total while registered in their program (or $1,000 for each term of study in their first five years). Master's students can benefit form conference funding too.
Vanier Scholars are highly qualified Doctoral students selected based on their academic excellence, research potential and leadership. Trudeau Scholars represent outstanding Doctoral students pursuing advanced research in the humanities and social sciences. Both scholarships offer funding for three years, with an opportunity for a fourth year for Trudeau Scholars.
The Quebec Merit (PBEEE) scholarship program for foreign nationals (programme de bourses d'excellence pour étudiants étrangers) is open to international Doctoral and Postdoctoral students from any research sector.
