About the Artist

Clara Lou Micheau is a queer multidisciplinary visual artist based in Tiohtià:ke/Montréal who grew up between Ktinékétolékouac/Sherbrooke (Canada) and the Poitou-Charente (France). Her practice examines issues of family dynamics, virtual identities, and landscapes in anthropocentrism by the creation of imagined micro-universes. She uses clay, light and digital technologies to make installations, sculptures, and medias. In 2021, she obtained a BFA in Studio Arts with distinctions at Concordia University. Her work has been showed in various exhibitions like Vitrine sur l’Art (Montréal), La Station (Verdun), Gham & Dafe (Montréal) et Proof Studio Gallery (Toronto). In 2023, she attended a residency at Medalta in Alberta, which follows the one realized at Guldagergaad in Danemark in 2019. In the last year, her work has been supported by the Canada Council of the Arts and the Conseil des Arts et des Lettres du Quebec.
