Dear Concordians,
The Shuffle is a Concordia tradition that we all look forward to every fall.
I have many great memories of doing the 6.5-kilometre walk between the two campuses with faculty, staff, alumni, retirees and friends.
This year, 66 teams and 742 participants raised over $205,000 to support Concordia students. A huge thank you to all our participants and donors!
Special thanks also to the many individuals who inspired Shufflers with matching pledges, as well as the numerous vendors who contributed to the Shuffle picnic.
Ultimately, the Shuffle is about the generosity of our community. More than half of our students receive some form of financial support during their studies. In many cases, that support is absolutely crucial to achieving academic success and nurturing the hopes and ambitions of future Concordia grads.
Unfortunately, I had to be in Ottawa for a meeting on Friday afternoon, so I wasn’t able to do the Shuffle with all of you this year. Instead, to make good on my pledge and do my part for the great Shuffle team from the President’s Office, I walked from Loyola to downtown on Thursday morning.
While there was no Buzz on my solo Shuffle and no picnic on arrival, I did bump into a couple of Concordians along the way, which confirmed why it’s so good to do the walk for the cause.
Congratulations on another outstanding Shuffle — and thank you once again for showing what Concordians can accomplish together.
