Register your child for daycare or school

Daycare registration

Register your child on the La Place 0-5 when you have your address in Montreal. Your child's information will be shared with daycares near your home, and they will contact you when there is an available spot for your child's age range.

School registration

Register in person with the school board and provide all necessary documents. If you are an international student, you may have the option of choosing between English or French schools, which you'll need to confirm with the school board.

Here are the links to the two main school boards:

Tax credit for childcare

Quebec Tax Credit for Childcare Expenses

The refundable tax credit for childcare expenses is one of the tax measures for families. The tax rate is based on your family income.

If you meet the requirements, you can receive advance payments of the tax credit for childcare expenses instead of waiting to claim the tax credit when you file your income tax return.
