New Dimensions in Space Exploration

If you are thinking of applying to graduate school at Concordia University in Montreal, this is your chance to participate in a four-day interdisciplinary project in experiential learning, where you will encounter scholars and researchers at Concordia's state-of-the art research labs. This year's Summer Institute will revolve around space exploration and concepts. We will explore questions such as:

  • How are scientists leading the next wave of space exploration?
  • Why should astronauts have all the fun?
  • Does space only belong to the astronauts?
  • What makes humans succeed during spaceflight?

If you want to know more, come and discover Concordia and experience graduate research first-hand in Montreal. If you are thinking about developing your research skills, this is a chance to test the waters while spending time in Montreal and discovering Concordia University.

Join this very selected group of exceptionally talented students for the Concordia University Summer Research Institute from May 31 to June 5. Twenty top senior undergraduate and graduate students from Canadian and international universities will be screened for acceptance as Summer Research Institute Fellows. Students will work for four days under the mentorship of some of Concordia’s top researchers and professors, addressing big questions on the theme of space. We will offer key note addresses by industry leaders in astronaut training and visual effects in space representation in film.

Apply now, and if you are selected you can become a Fellow, and you will participate in workshops delivered by members of three research groups at Concordia. With its emphasis on true interdisciplinarity, on problem-solving approaches to learning, and on synergy of research and creation, the CUSRI will be a week of experiential learning, hands-on activities, and team-work where students of all disciplines will team up and have the chance to win the Space Blog competition!

The Concordia University Summer Research Institute is designed and delivered through the collaboration of the Concordia Institute of Aerospace Design and Innovation (CIADI), Space Concordia, the Concordia Center for Composites (CONCOM), the Department of Design and Computation Arts, the Department of Applied Human Sciences, and coordinated by the School of Graduate Studies.
