Hi there! My name is Silvia, and I’m completing my third year as an undergraduate student with a double major in Economics & Finance. I am originally from Bogotá, Colombia, but I have also lived in the wonderful New York City and Lyon, France. My favourite thing about Montreal (besides the summer) is its diversity and abundance of opportunities. During my time at Concordia, I have had two internship experiences. Additionally, this is my first year being involved in John Molson International Business Association, run by a team of inspiring and driven students. I am committed to helping my community, I’m a lover of picnics, quality time with friends, traveling, biking, golf, and horseback-riding. I am passionate about student experience enhancement and would be happy to support you during your time at Concordia University!
The one thing I wished I would have known back in my first semester is… It is important to make time for yourself. It is a great idea to construct a morning or night routine to do those things that you enjoy! For example, I like to start my day having breakfast and a cup of coffee with my Dad, and devote some time to exercise before getting to work or class.
A tip I have for new students is…It’s okay to feel lost! Success means different things to different people. Here is my tip: set priorities that align with your definition of success. When priorities become clear, strategically manage your time to accomplish your goals.
My favourite part of being a Concordia student is…Concordia has something for everyone! Connecting with students from different cultures and interests is a truly enriching experience.
