Three words that describe me: Friendly, passionate and determined.
In my spare time I: walk around the beautiful city of Montreal to discover new places, especially coffee shops. I like taking photos of architecture and nature, baking, reading novels, and hanging out with friends and family.
My secret spot to study on campus: Concordia greenhouse on the 13th floor of H building, Grey Nuns reading room and upper level floors of EV building which offers a spectacular view of downtown.
Favorite, affordable off campus food option: I love both Antep Kebab and Central Bergham off-campus, and people’s potato on-campus (great selection of healthy vegan food). As for coffee, hands down Café Myriade is the best!
In my first year I wish I knew: that there’s much more to the university experience than the classroom and grades. Concordia offers endless opportunities to get involved in extra-curricular activities. Also, that Concordia offers various resources for students such as laptop rentals and French conversation groups.
The thing I like most about Concordia is: the university’s community at large as I got to know people from all over the world and from different cultures. Everyone is super nice, helpful and friendly.
My success tip for new students: Get involved! On-campus involvement is a great way to meet new people and to discover your passion and strengths. Personally, I think the social side of things and developing as a person is equally as important as academics. Academics-wise, study in groups, organize a study schedule, sleep well, don’t be shy or afraid to ask for help when needed, and most importantly, have fun while doing it!
