Hello there! My name is Navid, I’m in my 5th year of Computer Engineering at Concordia. Some fun facts about me is that I am incredibly passionate about history and languages and try to learn something new every day. Whenever I’m free, I’ll occasionally follow up the latest politics around the world or play a card game or two with friends online. But above all, video games are definitely the greatest inventions of all time – I guess you can tell that I’m quite a gamer myself!
The one thing I wished I would have known back in my first semester is… course sequences. I came into the engineering program without knowing how to make my schedule at all and added random classes instead. By the time I realized that ENCS had a program sequence and was missing a crucial class, the add/drop deadline had already passed.
A tip I have for new students is… when studying, shut down your internet access or add a security code to discourage you from trying to access distracting social media websites. This will force you to go back to studying and not procrastinating.
My favourite part of being a Concordia student is… the sense of community among everyone. There are many different clubs and activities that you can join. They all give you a sense of belonging and fulfilment.
