Commissioner of Oaths

We offer free document affirmation services to undergraduate and graduate students, as authorized by the Québec Provincial Government.

To facilitate the process:

  • Photocopy all your documents (and not selected pages) including the reverse pages where there are any stamps, seals, signatures or unique numbers. A commissioner of oath cannot affirm any documents that are either partial, incomplete or damaged.
  • If your documents do not conform to affirmation standards, we reserve the right to refuse them.  A maximum of 15 pages may be affirmed on a given date.

You are responsible for the statement(s) and content of the resulting document(s). The commissioner of oaths is not required to verify the accuracy of a statement sworn under oath.

This service is offered only to currently registered Concordia students, their spouses and children. The spouse must be present with a photo ID to get the document(s) affirmed.
