Progress of the recommendations made by the Sexual Assault Policy Review Working Group

Fall 2017

The report made a series of recommendations under five key areas: policy, procedures and processes, education and training, communications, and evaluation. For full details, please go to the Sexual Assault Policy Review Recommendations webpage.

Here are the highlights of the progress made from the recommendations in the five areas:

  • A stand-alone policy on Sexual Violence that links to existing policies and applies to all members of the Concordia community (Spring 2016)
  • Changes to the Code of Rights and to align with the new policy on Sexual Violence (April 2017)
  • A formal review of faculty/student relationships (June 2017)
  • A centralized web page that consolidates all sexual assault related resources into one easily accessible place (August 2015)
  • Guidance and assistance to student groups and associations to develop procedures to address behavior and ethical issues (Ongoing)
  • Education and training programs designed to the various needs and realities of our diverse community (Ongoing)
  • Resources for the Sexual Assault Resource Centre to sustain training programs on a long-term basis (Ongoing)
  • A university-wide promotional campaign on sexual violence and consent (Fall 2016)
  • A system to evaluate the prevalence of sexual violence on campus (Ongoing)
