GPLL248 - Understanding & Increasing the Visibility and Impact of your Research

This workshop will introduce you to strategies that can be used to help increase your research impact, and explore ways in which research impact indicators can be used to identify potential collaborators in your field of research. The session will explore the databases and approaches used to determine these research impact indicators, as well as the importance of author identification tools in your academic work.

Learning Objectives



Participants will:
1. Understand the common indicators used to assess research impact, and the tools available to assist you in determining these values
2. Identify potential collaborators in your field of research using research impact indicators
3. Understand the importance of author identification tools and how they relate to your future research
4. Become aware of different strategies that can be used to increase the impact of your research

Leaders Information


This workshop is led by Krista Alexander.
Krista Alexander is the Subject Librarian for Physics, Chemistry & Biochemistry and Applied Human Sciences at Concordia University Library. She holds a BSc and a Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Waterloo, and a Masters in Library and Information Science from the University of Western Ontario.
