GPDI508 - Introduction to Adobe Photoshop

This Photoshop workshop will introduce students to the Photoshop environment and basic Photoshop tools. Image properties will be discussed and students will be given a series of exercises to practice basic image adjustment, different types of selection, and using text. Students will also be introduced to layers and their properties.

Learning Objectives

In this workshop, participants will learn to:
1- Identify Adobe Photoshop components
2- Utilize Adobe Photoshop features

Leaders Information

This workshop is led by Constanza Silva.

Constanza Silva is a PhD candidate in the Department of Education at Concordia University. Her doctoral thesis examines actor-network theory as a methodology for examining media coverage of issues in higher education. Silva holds an MFA from Concordia University and a BFA from Emily Carr Institute (now University) of Art and Design, with specializations in robotics, installation, photography and video. As an artist and educational technologist, she has produced numerous client-based projects that integrate current pedagogical, technological and design approaches. Silva’s knowledge of computational technologies and their affordances and her versatility with a wide range of software applications will be assets in these introductory through advanced courses.
