I now feel more at ease in approaching social challenges with a critical eye and putting a megaphone on it to get noticed and hopefully resolved
Critical Policy Issues in Education was a course that stood out for me among others. The learning was tenfold more, and it sticks better. The professor transformed the class into a laboratory that discusses real-time challenges, and pushed the students to come up with possible policy solutions that would resolve them.
Every new session included a 5-minute student rant on a policy issue that should be addressed from real life. We were the ones giving lectures on the course, and raising and answering critical questions throughout the semester. We worked together in small groups to prepare for classes, and brought our thoughts to the bigger group for discussions and reflections.
I now feel at ease in approaching social challenges with a critical eye and putting a megaphone on them so that they get noticed and hopefully resolved.
I learned critical thinking by thinking differently.
