Program description
Global warming is a global crisis that will require changes across all facets of our societies. Effective solutions must be informed by scientific evidence both of the problem, as well as potential pathways towards environmental sustainability. In an increasingly digital world, it is critical that climate mitigation pathways are able to leverage digital innovations and advanced analytical tools to support their implementation and scalability.
For this postdoctoral position, we are looking for a self-motivated researcher with demonstrate experience applying quantitative skills towards policy-relevant science questions. Potential areas of research expertise could include modelling nature-based climate solutions, quantifying links between climate and biodiversity challenges, building digital tools for climate communication, or assessing equitable pathways towards zero-carbon economies.
The successful candidate will join the Leadership in Environmental and Digital Innovation for Sustainability (LEADS) program a graduate student and postdoctoral training program based at Concordia University in partnership with the Canadian Global Hub of Future Earth.
Academic qualifications required
PhD in Climate Science or related field, with strong quantitative skills and experience in developing, leading and publishing policy-relevant science.
Eligibility requirements
- Applicants must not currently hold a postdoctoral appointment at Concordia
- Priority will be given to postdoctoral fellows who have obtained their PhD from another university although in exceptional cases Concordia graduates may be considered
- Applicants must adhere to the postdoctoral fellow eligibility criteria outlined in Concordia University’s Postdoctoral Policy
Timeline
The Postdoctoral Fellow must start their appointment by March 1, 2023.
