Program description

The aim of the postdoctoral fellowship is to study early risk factors and biological mechanisms of eating disorders, as well as the interaction between biological risk and sociocultural factors. The postdoctoral fellow will be part of a multidisciplinary team and research program on eating disorder susceptibility. Research methods include a combination of emotional-cognitive assessments, brain-imaging, psychophysiological procedures and (epi)genetic measures. He or she will work with previously collected longitudinal data from community samples but will also conduct empirical studies of patients and at-risk populations. The studies will focus on youth and adults, and will be conducted in collaboration with various hospitals and universities around Canada.

Tasks: data-analysis, study coordination, data collection, supervision of undergraduate students and research assistants, writing manuscripts, knowledge dissemination (e.g., presenting findings at conferences).

Academic qualifications required

  • PhD in Psychology, Psychiatry, Clinical Neuroscience or a related discipline.
  • Excellent computational and statistical skills.
  • Experience in conducting mental health assessments.
  • Strong ability to multi-task and to work in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent English oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of French is an asset.

Eligibility requirements

  • Applicants must not currently hold a postdoctoral appointment at Concordia
  • Priority will be given to postdoctoral fellows who have obtained their PhD from another university although in exceptional cases Concordia graduates may be considered
  • Applicants must adhere to the postdoctoral fellow eligibility criteria outlined in Concordia University’s Postdoctoral Policy

Timeline

The Postdoctoral Fellow must start their appointment by August 31, 2022.
