Graduate Studies Town Hall December 2020
On December 1, 2020, the School of Graduate Studies invited graduate students of all levels and faculties to an online Town Hall to address the most pressing concerns of the Fall 2020 term, and to provide an opportunity for graduate students to connect with the School of Graduate Studies directly in real-time.
As a result of the hundreds of questions provided by students, the School of Graduate Studies has added new content to the Graduate & Postdoctoral Studies FAQs. Students are encouraged to review the FAQs periodically to ensure they are aware of important updates relevant to them.
Winter 2021 Graduate Student Virtual Information Sessions
In addition, the December Town Hall confirmed the need for increased engagement with our students. As such, the School of Graduate Studies is launching a series of smaller information sessions throughout the Winter 2021 term. The information sessions will be topic-specific so that students may attend only the sessions that may be relevant to them. Planned sessions include updates for returning to campus and tailored sessions for students in course-based and research programs.
Additional topics, dates and registration information will be posted in the coming weeks. Session topics and content are tentative and will be adjusted to address the most critical information at the time of the session (e.g., COVID-related announcements, policy changes, current events, and so on).
Coming in March: Info session for graduate students in research-based programs
This session will include a review of campus access, research advancement, funding and awards, fast track options, thesis-related issues, comprehensives and proposals, COVID-related academic accommodations, and more
Additional Resources
Graduate students are encouraged to refer to the Graduate Calendar for program curriculum information and academic regulations. Students with questions specific to their program or progress should contact their graduate program director or assistant. In some cases, the School of Graduate Studies may also be able to refer you to the appropriate individual. Peer support and networking opportunities are available through GradProSkills. We also remind students that mental and physical health support is also available.
