Group Classes

Join a group training class for fun, social workouts that are available at several levels of fitness & activity.
Group classes at the PERFORM Centre Gym are exercise sessions that target all muscle groups and provide a full-body workout.
  • 6-20 participants. Classes may be cancelled if there are less than 5 registrants.
  • The classes are open to non-gym members as well.
  • Drop-in rate per class:
    •      Concordia Students (must present student I.D card) $5.00 + tax
    •      Reduced Rate (Alumni, Staff, Faculty, Senior 65+) $8.00 + tax
    •      Public $10.00 + tax

     


Group Classes Spring 2019

50+ Gentle Fitness

1 hr sessions | 8 weeks  

Tone muscles, improve strength and cardio, improve balance, and decrease risk of falls with the use of light weights (very light to light effort). Taught by Pouya Jadidi.

Target Audience: Low to moderately active individuals, ideal for Seniors

Bootcamp: Abs & Glutes

1 hr sessions | 8 weeks  

Boost core conditioning and tone your glutes and thighs. Taught by Henry Tung who is a national Judo champion and personal trainer.

Target Audience: Healthy experienced exercisers

Bootcamp: Get Pumped

1 hr sessions | 8 weeks

Taught by Pouya Jadidi, this class is set to help you boost your upper body, leg and core strength in a high intensity circuit on the gym floor. 

Target Audience: Moderate to vigourous exercisers

Meditation

1 hr. session | 10 weeks

Learn to become increasingly present in your daily activities as a way to tap into your inner resources of calm, happiness, and resilience. The class is taught by William Byers, a retired Concordia professor, who has practiced meditation for 40 years.

Target Audience: all those who have already practiced meditation

Yin Yoga

1 hr sessions | 10 weeks 

Combine gentle hatha postures, and passive yin and restorative postures to build strength and improve your stability.  Breath work and meditation are weaved into the class to create a whole experience for both the body and the mind. Taught by Melissa Badilla.

Target Audience: Low tactive, low mobility users

Yoga

75 min. sessions | 10 weeks

Strengthen your muscles and increase your flexibility while connecting breath with movement. For a calming energizing experience. Taught by  Marci Babineau until April 4 and then Leslie Bronstein until May 16.

Zumba

1 hr sessions | 10 weeks

Combine low and high intensity moves to the sound of Latin and World rhythms for an interval-style, calorie-burning dance fitness class. Zumba combines all elements of fitness – cardio, muscle conditioning, balance, and flexibility to boost your energy from good to awesome. Taught by Monica Boulos.
