Postdoctoral Fellowship Positions in Yeast Metabolic Engineering

The Biology Department and the Centre for Applied Synthetic Biology at Concordia University (laboratories of Drs. Vincent Martin, Malcolm Whiteway and Michael Hallett) are inviting applications for three Postdoctoral Fellow positions to work within a recently funded Genome Canada Genomic Applications Partnership Program (GAPP) entitled “Bioprocess Development for Lactose Valorisation”. The project will revolve around engineering yeast and developing a bioprocess to efficiently convert lactose to high value organic acids.


Applicants must have a PhD in Microbiology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering or related fields; strong technical expertise in genetics, molecular biology and/or fermentation a demonstration of publications directly related to these areas of research and an excellent knowledge of the literature related to yeast metabolic engineering.


The positions are available immediately with a salary of $45,000 per year for up to 3 years.
