Biography
André Gagné is Full Professor and Chair of the Department of Theological Studies. He has a conjoint PhD from l'Université catholique de Louvain (Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium) and l'Université de Montréal, a M.A. and B.Th. from l'Université de Montréal.
His teaching and scholarship focus on political theology, religion and violence, and the interpretation and reception of the Bible.
In 2023, Dr. Gagné was appointed as member of the National Expert Committee on Countering Radicalization to Violence with Public Safety Canada. He is also member of the Centre for the Study of Learning and Performance (Concordia) and research associate with the Centre de recherche Société, Droit et Religions (Université de Sherbrooke).
