What is Homeroom?

Homeroom is a new pilot initiative for 500 new undergraduate students that provides a space to connect you to others. Through facilitated virtual experiences, you will meet and bond with other new Concordia students, and learn how to navigate the university experience together. In weekly Homerooms led by upper year students, you’ll discuss a wide array of must-know topics that will help ease the transition to Concordia all while meeting new people and allowing you to co-develop new skills that will propel you through your first year of university and beyond.

How Homeroom works

  • Weekly 1-hour meetings via Zoom that take place between 9am and 9pm EDT (during campus closures)
  • Meetings start during the week of September 14 and continue all throughout the Fall 2020 and Winter 2021 semesters
  • 15-20 students will be in each Homeroom
  • Some Homerooms will be department and faculty-specific, others will be cross-faculty
  • You will have access to your Student Facilitator during the meetings and during office hours throughout the week
  • You will have access to Concordia professionals to help answer any questions you may have along the way

Participants will receive a notation on their Co-Curricular Record, a certificate of completion, and receive additional perks based on attendance and participation.
