Mitacs Globalink Research Award
Mitacs Globalink Research Awards provide an opportunity for Concordia senior undergraduate and graduate students to undertake a hands-on project abroad while developing research skills, cultural fluency, and their professional network. At the same time, faculty members can strengthen existing international research collaborations and connect with colleagues and industry around the world.

Mitacs reçoit maintenant les demandes dans le cadre d’un concours international offrant la chance aux étudiants de mener de la recherche à l’étranger. La date limite pour présenter une demande est le 31 mars 2017 à 17 h (HNP).
Les projets durent de 12 à 24 semaines et sont ouverts aux étudiants des cycles supérieurs. Les finissants du premier cycle ont aussi accès à certaines destinations. Le financement varie selon la destination.

Les étudiants des cycles supérieurs au Canada peuvent aussi faire une demande pour la Bourse de partenariat Globalink qui soutient des projets de recherche à l’étranger auprès de partenaires du secteur privé dans tous les pays sauf les États-Unis. Les candidats peuvent soumettre une demande avant le 9 juin 2017 afin de voyager à l’automne 2017.

Mitacs tient à remercier le gouvernement du Canada de son soutien à l’égard du Programme de bourses de recherche Globalink. De plus, nous avons le plaisir de travailler avec des partenaires internationaux pour soutenir ce programme de bourses, notamment le China Scholarship Council, le National Research Foundation of Korea, Inria de la France, et le ministère de l’Enseignement Supérieur et de la Recherche Scientifique de la Tunisie et Mission Universitaire de Tunisie en Amérique du Nord.
Mitacs is now accepting applications for competitive international research opportunities, including student travel to and from Canada. The deadline to apply is March 31, at 5 p.m. PST.
Projects last 12–24 weeks and are open to graduate students. Select destinations are also open to senior undergraduates. Funding varies by destination.

Graduate students in Canada can also apply for the Globalink Partnership Award, which supports research projects abroad with industry partners in any country except the United States. Applicants are encouraged to apply by June 9, 2017, for travel in Fall 2017.

In addition, we are pleased to work with international partners to support this award including the China Scholarship Council, France’s Inria, the National Research Foundation of Korea, and Tunisia’s Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Mission Universitaire de Tunisie en Amerique du Nord.
The Globalink Research Award offers full-time senior undergraduate and graduate students at Concordia the opportunity to undertake research abroad. Each research project will occur over a 12 to 24 week period and will be jointly supervised by faculty members in Canada and in a Mitacs partner country (Mexico, Brazil, India, and mainland China). Open to all academic disciplines. Call will open in September 2016.
The Globalink Partnership Award offers full-time graduate students at Concordia the opportunity to participate in a 16 to24 week research project with an international industry partner located in any country in the world (except the U.S.). Students spend a minimum of 25% of the research project at their home university and up to 75% with the industry partner abroad. Open to all academic disciplines. Applications are accepted anytime.
The Globalink Research Internship offers a 12-week research project at Canadian universities for high-achieving senior undergraduates from Australia, Brazil, China, France, Germany, India, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, and Tunisia. Starting May 2017, approved students travel to Canada, where they work with a faculty supervisor and other researchers at their host universities.

- Student must maintain full-time status during the time that the award is held.
- Student must demonstrate skills and interest suitable to the project in question.
- Student must have identified a home academic supervisor with a faculty appointment at a Canadian university.
- Student must have identified a host supervisor who is a recognized faculty member at an eligible university abroad.
- Student must meet all necessary travel requirements for the intended destination.
- For senior undergraduate students only:
- Have completed their second year of studies prior to departure
- Maintain a B average or equivalent thereof
- Students cannot undertake a research project at an institution where they have previously completed a degree or been employed.
- Students in Canada on a study permit cannot undertake a research project in a country where they hold citizenship. Students with Canadian citizenship and permanent residents can undertake research in any partner country, regardless of additional citizenship status.

Students who meet all of the eligibility criteria and have identified a research project, a home supervisor, and a host supervisor, must complete the Mitacs application package and have their home supervisor submit a Grant Submission Form in ConRAD, attaching all the required documents. Once submitted, the Office of Research will sign the application and submit the package to MITACS directly, on behalf of the student.
Mitacs will inform applicants if they have been selected for an award. If selected, Concordia International will contact the student to schedule a pre-departure meeting in order complete and sign the International Pre-departure Form required by Mitacs.
