The Mesure de formation de la main-d'œuvre (workforce training measure) — part of the Programmes de développement de la main-d'œuvre of Emploi Québec — enables employees to benefit from training that will allow them to better do their work, with the goal of staying employed.

Your company may be eligible to receive a subsidy that covers up to 50% reimbursement for expenses related to professional development training.

Funded by the Fonds de développement du marché du travail, this program for businesses aims to support the skills development of people who are at risk of losing their jobs and can also help maintain expertise in your organization.

You may get technical or financial help to:

  • Define your training needs
  • Carry out your training project
  • Assess the effectiveness of the training received

The duration is established according to the training plan.

Eligible employers

All employers located in Quebec can participate in this program, with the exception of public bodies and political organizations.

Among these are:

  • Private companies
  • Private business groups
  • Cooperatives
  • Non-profit organizations
  • Municipalities
  • Self-employed workers
  • Communities and band councils

How it works

You must demonstrate that the training activity:

  • Helps keep people employed
  • Increases the performance of workers
  • Can be transferred to other members of your staff in order to increase mobility within your company

Financial assistance can reach up to 50% of eligible expenses for the purposes of the training measure.
