Frank Crooks joined Concordia University in 1987. He has developed and teaches a variety of courses related to business law, ethics and professional standards at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. He was also actively involved in the designing of the ethics component for JMSB’s Sustainable Investment Professional Certificate (SIPC).

Professor Crooks holds LLL and LLB law degrees from the University of Ottawa, an MA in educational studies from Concordia University and a BComm in marketing from McGill University. He has been a member in good standing of the Quebec Bar Association since 1985 and of the Law Society of Upper Canada (Ontario) since 1991. He is the co-author of the book “Fundamentals of Quebec Business Law and Ethics” (2013). A senior lecturer in the Department of Management, Professor Crooks was the director of the John Molson Executive MBA Program from 2011-2014.

Professor Crooks practices corporate commercial law, specializing in incorporation, acquisition, leasing and contract negotiations. He worked as an attorney and legal counsel at various Montreal firms such as Robinson Sheppard Shapiro and IVANHOÉ INC. before starting his own law practice. He works extensively with entrepreneurs and start-up businesses and was one of the founders and directors of the successful Montreal-based metasearch engine company Mamma.com.
