Dr. Oscar A. Pekau obtained his B.Sc. from the University of Toronto in 1964, an M.Sc. from the University of London (Imperial College), in 1965, and his Ph.D. from the University of Waterloo in 1970. His research interests are structural dynamics and the earthquake resistant design of buildings.
After obtaining his B.A.Sc. from the University of Toronto in 1964, and M.A.Sc. from the University of London (Imperial College) in 1965, Dr. O. A. Pekau worked as a structural design engineer for a Toronto consulting firm. He obtained his Ph.D. degree from the University of Waterloo in 1970, and joined Concordia the following year. He served as Chair of the Civil Engineerining Department during 1989-1994.
