MSc alumni profiles

Marilou Rozé Bianchi

I chose JMSB because I liked it a lot during my undergraduate studies. I had great professors who were also teaching in the MSc programs. I really think that the education is good here. Moreover, as the program is focused on research, students are encouraged to develop new ideas and to refine them in their thesis. JMSB also gave me the opportunity to develop my network and meet recruiters. During the program I worked as a research assistant at JMSB.

Country of origin: France
Program: MSc Finance, full-time
Research interests: I am interested in behavioural finance as I believe that emotions play a big role in decision-making. My thesis is focused on pay dispersion in family firms and the impact on firm performance. Family members exhibit specific biases that are not present in other types of firms. These biases can actually have an impact on firm performance.
Academic background: BComm, major in Finance from Concordia University and Skema Business School, France
Work experience: Intern at Société Générale (Corporate banking) and Accountant, Société Donat de Gestion (SDG), France

Not only did I chose JMSB because it is an acclaimed business school, but I wanted a program that was different from an MBA degree, meaning more specialized with a greater emphasis on academia, and JMSB offers exactly that. Additionally, I chose JMSB because I wanted to be part of a school that encourages its students to be socially active with their peers and well as with the faculty members.

In contrast to the feelings I had during my undergraduate studies, at JMSB I was not afraid to become involved in extracurricular activities. I was part of the JMSB MSc. Society and thoroughly enjoyed the work I did for the club as well as the people I met through it.

Country of origin: Canada
Program: MSc Marketing, full-time
Research interests: My interests are in the effects of the expansion of e-commerce platforms on different industries and brands more specifically.
Academic background: Bachelor of Honour’s in Political Science with a Specialization in International Relations and a minor in Economics.
Work experience: 1 year experience as a Junior Account Manager for Bisco Industries.
