Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT)

All applicants to a Masters or PhD level program at the John Molson of Business are required to submit a valid GMAT score as part of their application, unless specified as an exception under the program’s admission requirements. This aptitude test measures quantitative abilities, verbal skills, integrated reasoning and analytical writing. It is used as a diagnostic tool for assessing and comparing the suitability of candidates. The GMAT is administered as a Computer-Adaptive Test (CAT) through the Pearson Professional Centre network throughout North America and at many international test centers.

If you are applying to the Executive MBA, know that the program is an intellectually challenging and academically rigorous program and we want you to succeed. The critical skills for graduate business studies include integrated reasoning, critical thinking, analysis and problem-solving. To help us assess your readiness, we require a satisfactory score on the GMAT exam. Depending on your academic background, we may accept the Executive Assessment instead of the GMAT exam. Both the GMAT and EA are specifically designed to evaluate the business school readiness of seasoned professionals.

Please contact us to discuss your credentials and to determine the most appropriate assessment tool. The test is administered by the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC), creators of the GMAT® exam. Learn more about the Executive Assessment here.
