Francine V. Jones is a fluently bilingual, native Montrealer whose professional and personal interests have evolved primarily in the fields of education, marketing, and public affairs, with considerable involvement in the hospitality and design-related industries, as well as the visual arts.

Education

Her formal education includes a Master's degree in Business Administration with a Marketing major (Concordia University), as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree  with a Psychology major and a Fine Arts background (Sir George Williams University).

Business / work-related experience

After spending several years with Hilton Canada as Advertising and Public Relations Officer at The Queen Elizabeth Hotel in Montréal (then Hilton International's worldwide flagship property), Francine Jones accepted the position of Director of Marketing for the Québec Furniture Manufacturers' Association, the furniture industry's province-wide trade organization, where she created an extensive range of marketing and U.S. export development programs for the residential, office and institutional furniture sectors.  

In the early 1990's, on behalf of the Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Ms. Jones was appointed organizer and promoter of a series of five U.S. Export Market Development Seminars held across Canada in Montreal, Toronto and Calgary for members of the Canadian furniture industry.   During this time, her consulting firm Parcourt International also served in an advisory capacity to the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, conducting industry research and preparing sectoral strategic plans for government support programs to facilitate the market expansion of the furniture industry into the United States.

In June 1994, she represented Concordia University as its delegate to the Sixth International Design Management Conference held in Paris, France.

As a member of the Board of Directors of the Montreal West Curling Club from 1999 to 2011 as its volunteer Treasurer and Marketing and Design Coordinator, she directed the interior and exterior re-design of its premises and the creation of the Club's marketing and corporate re-branding program.

Until 2013, Parcourt International Inc., continued to pursue activities relating to marketing and design, while maintaining professional ties with the annual Montreal International Interior Design Show.

Fine Arts Involvement

In 2004, as a personal initiative, Francine launched, Jones Art, a watercolour and mixed media painting and print-making studio located in the Lachine Canal Complex, where she practices her art and organizes painting exhibitions and studio sessions for fellow artists. (www.fvjones.ca).   Her artwork also includes exclusive jewellery designs in silver, gold and semi-precious stones.

Since 2002, Francine is an accredited volunteer guide at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, welcoming visitors to many of this institution's internationally acclaimed exhibitions.

Francine V. Jones Scholarship

As a result of her dual  interests in the realms of business and the arts, Francine Jones is currently involved in sponsoring a series of triennial scholarships, linking Concordia University and The Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, for the purpose of supporting graduate studies in Art Conservation in conjunction with a practical Museum Internship.

Courses taught

Since 1990, Francine Jones has taught the following courses at Concordia University’s John Molson School of Business:  Introductory Marketing, Marketing Management, Retailing, Business Communications, Contemporary Business Thinking, and Consumer Behaviour.
