Virtual private network (VPN)

Concordia University's Virtual Private Network (VPN) service allows off-site Concordia University students, staff and faculty access to services restricted to computers registered with Concordia IP addresses.

The Concordia University VPN service is solely for academic or work related use. While using the VPN service, your computer becomes part of the university network and is subject to Concordia University's Policy on Computing Facilities. It is important to note that file-sharing and peer-to-peer applications are forbidden on the Concordia network. Use of these types of programs may result in immediate suspension of your VPN account.

How to get it

  • To download the VPN FortiClient software, visit the Software and Applications section of the MyConcordia portal. Once the software has been installed, enter your Concordia netname and password to establish a connection.

  • For instructions on configuring the VPN client, visit the documentation section of this page and select the instructions that correspond to your operating system. If you are attempting to install the FortiClient software on a Concordia-owned computer that requires admin access, contact the Service Desk.
