The Concordia Institute for Information Systems Engineering (CIISE) seeks an outstanding candidate for the Gina Cody Research Chair position in Cybersecurity and Internet of Things (IoT) at the rank of Associate or Full Professor. The five-year research chair is renewable and comes with an attractive research package. This call extends to all individuals with interests in the following: cyber-security, cyber-physical systems, smart grids, blockchain, IoT security, cellular IoT, consumer and industrial IoT, advanced networking in IoT, edge computing, IoT data management, IoT energy and power systems, IoT for smart cities, machine learning, data analytics and big data in IoT with a demonstrated ability to work in collaborative multidisciplinary settings.

About the Academic Unit
The Concordia Institute for Information Systems Engineering has a faculty complement of 24 professors, including eight internal and external research chairs, active in various areas of Information Systems Engineering, Information Systems Security, and Quality Systems Engineering. The Institute is dedicated to multidisciplinary research and training of graduate students, offering master’s degrees in Information Systems Security and in Quality Systems Engineering, and a PhD degree in Information and Systems Engineering. Applicants must hold a PhD in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related engineering field. The successful candidate shall be internationally recognized as a leader in the field of Internet of Things; however, exceptional candidates in other areas of information systems engineering may also be considered. She/he shall have an excellent track record in leading major research initiatives, attracting strong external funding, supervising graduate students and postdoctoral fellows, and committed to excellence in teaching courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Moreover, the applicant must demonstrate an original and innovative research program of the highest quality, and evidence of developing and maintaining research collaborations. Membership or eligibility for membership in a Canadian professional engineering association, preferably in the province of Quebec, is desirable. The language of instruction at Concordia is English; however, knowledge of French is an asset.

The appointment is expected to commence in July 2020 or shortly thereafter.
