The Concordia Institute for Information Systems Engineering (CIISE) invites applications for a tenure-track position in Network Security at the rank of Assistant Professor, but exceptional candidates at the Associate Professor level may also be considered. This call extends to all individuals with interests in the following: Cloud and Virtualization security (knowledge about Software Defined Networking (SDN), Network Functions Virtualization (NFV), or edge computing is an asset), Security Auditing and Compliance Verification, Security of Mobile/Telecom networks (knowledge of 5G is an asset), Network Security (Monitoring, Detection, Orchestration and Management), Security Metrics and Measurement, ML/AI Approaches to Security, with a demonstrated ability to work in collaborative multidisciplinary settings.

About the Academic Unit
The Concordia Institute for Information Systems Engineering has a faculty complement of 24 professors, including eight internal and external research chairs, active in various areas of Information Systems Engineering, Information Systems Security, and Quality Systems Engineering. The Institute is dedicated to multidisciplinary research and training of graduate students, offering master’s degrees in Information Systems Security and in Quality Systems Engineering, and a PhD degree in Information and Systems Engineering. Applicants must hold a PhD in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related engineering field. A strong commitment to research excellence, supervision of graduate students, and teaching excellence is expected. Membership or eligibility for membership in a Canadian professional engineering association, preferably in the province of Quebec, is desirable. The language of instruction at Concordia is English; however, knowledge of French is an asset.
The successful candidate is expected to provide academic leadership, conduct independent and superior scholarly research, establish a strong externally-funded research program and demonstrate industrial applications of her/his research activities.

The appointment is expected to commence in July 2020 or shortly thereafter.
