The Centre for Engineering in Society (CES) invites applications for up to two Limited Term Appointment (LTA) faculty members for the academic year 2021–2022. Positions are available in the areas of Technical Communication and Technology and Society. An LTA is a teaching position at the rank of Assistant Professor. The CES teaches courses in technical communication, professional ethics and social implications of technology from a social science and humanities perspective. The incumbents will be assigned undergraduate and graduate courses in technical communication and remedial composition writing for undergraduate and graduate students, and/or impact of engineering on society depending on qualifications and experience.
Qualifications and assets
Preference will be given to candidates holding a PhD in technical communication, science and technology studies, or another discipline that will contribute to CES’s mission. A demonstrated ability in teaching engineering students and experience with writing support technologies to assist students for whom English is a second or foreign language are necessary for this position. The appointment will be at the rank of Lecturer or Assistant Professor, dependent upon the applicant’s degree and qualifications.
