Nina Vroemen
MFA Student, Sculpture & Ceramics
Her current research is on queer ecology, real-life magic, hyperobjects, and the fraught legacy of uranium mining and the atomic age. She translates these investigations into experiments with inflatables, wearables and growables. Vroemen is a collaborator in two interdisciplinary, performance projects centred on speculation, imagination and ecological justice.
Currently residing in Tiohtiá:ke (Montreal), on the traditional territory of the Kanien’kehà:ka, Nina Vroemen is an interdisciplinary artist working in video, dance, multimedia installations and sonic experimentation. She seeks projects that quicken the heart, that engage in critical research, sensorial inquiry and immersive fieldwork.
